Prepare! Mini Podcast Evolution
This past week I had the pleasure of Skyping with Natalie Franke who reminded me that we all start off with fear and it’s OK. We laughed, we nodded profusely at one another in agreement over things happening in society that are shifting the definition of beauty, and we ended with, “let’s figure out how to join forces and serve people.” It was after this Skype call that it hit me we are already in August and Dear Gray Magazine’s podcast is about to launch this Fall. As with any new project, I have all the butterflies about whether we will be welcomed and embraced with love and encouragement. Thankfully, this friend introduced me to what I call the mini podcast evolution; none other than a simple platform called Anchor. Praise! There is an answer to my prayers of podcasting without feeling like I need to fluff the allotted time with content on top of content.
Anchor now allows me to talk to listeners in a five minute window, covering any topic that may be relevant to our publication or the creative industry as a whole. Talk about a weight off of my shoulders. I can now preserve our full podcast sessions for interviews with wedding and business professionals. I’ll admit, it took me about ten times to hit record before I got the guts to actually speak; there is just some unnerving feeling about seeing or hearing yourself that I haven’t settled with yet. But Anchor! Yes! This tiny podcast platform allows you to record five minute voice overs with the ability to insert background music, interlude music, and you can even interview people. While it isn’t completely saturated yet, I believe that once people catch on to the simplicity of it, we will have none other than a mini podcast evolution take flight!
I’d love for you to tune in!
Now, head over and get yourself a space in Anchor Land!
