Working With Floral Designers In Atlanta
A few months ago, Audrey Wagner King from Carlstead Floral Wholesale in Savannah, invited me to join her in Atlanta for a fone of a kind in floral design workshop available to the city creatives. Audrey had recently been enlisted to rebrand their company and begin branching out to creative communities in the US. Of course, I told Audrey that Dear Gray Magazine would love to help out in any way that we could!
Together we did some great marketing and through Dear Gray Magazine’s Instagram, I was able to invite followers to the event. It’s a great feeling to connect with our community outside of social media and work one on one besides them; watching as they create beauty in a new niche. Flower General (Carlstead’s) had a gorgeous setup and the floral design choices were no exception to the class styling. With hydrangeas, tulips, roses, rununculas, and more, there was no shortage of freedom to express how flowers could be used to create a personalized space.
Since moving to Atlanta, I have been dying to try out the gourmet menu at Sun In My Belly and not only did I try it, I devoured it two days in a row! On Saturday, Emily Jane Photography flew in to join me for the workshop. She is a super talented fine art film photographer located in Lansing, Michigan and you can see what I’m talking about by hopping over to her website right here. Emily and I may have snuck over to “view the venue” a day earlier, only to find ourselves seated at the most quainte wood table for two, flooded with natural light and surrounded by loud chatter from the afternoon locals as they dined on pure food perfection! It certainly didn’t hurt that we ate there on Saturday and Sunday.
And for fun, a little behind the scenes before attendees arrived!
