Download These Five (Life Changing) WordPress Plugins!
Someone, recently, asked me what top five WordPress plugins I use that would be good tools for bloggers. It was really hard to choose since I have more than five but for now, let me show you what works best for seamless blogging and SEO boosting!
- WordPress WP Smush – The holy grail for reducing image size (not quality).
- Regenerate Thumbnails – Perfect for when you make changes to various image sizes.
- WP Forms – The best drag and drop contact form for WordPress.
- Google Analytics by MonsterInsights – See your, real time, analytics on your dashboard.
- CoSchedule – Integrated with their software with calendar viewing and scheduling capability.
WordPress WP Smush
I absolutely love this plugin for minimizing the load time of images here and on Dear Gray Magazine. As you can imagine, images files that I receive are in hi-resolution and can really slow down the responsive time for online and, especially, mobile users. WP Smush reduces the file size without affecting the image quality which also helps with SEO!
If you change themes or adjust thumbnail images for stuff like your virtual shop / WooCommerce products then you definitely want to download this one. The plugin runs an overhaul on regenerating all of your image sizes to ensure they’ve adjusted properly. No more going one by one, flipping back and forth on your “View Site” to make sure they’re updating with your new size dimensions.
The easiest drag and drop, yet beautifully, form plugin that is free! The paid version allows you to login to “entries” directly on your WordPress dashboard but you can setup all of the forms to send an entry directly to a specified email address in the settings. They easily integrate into any page or post with the click of a button.
Google Analytics by MonsterInsights
Of course an analytics plugin made my top five WordPress plugin favorite’s list! What is blogging life without seeing results from what you’re working so hard for? I love, love being able to login to our WordPress dashboard to see up to date and real time analytics. No more flipping back and forth between WordPress and Google Analytics. We can see our users’ behavior, how they found us, and our ecommerce campaigns. The best part is that it is fully custom; you only see what you choose to on your dashboard.
While this is a software that you will have to invest in (probably the best marketing investment you’ll ever make), I love that they have created a plugin so I can schedule all of our social media posts from directly within WordPress. Everything that CoSchedule offers by desktop login is available right on your WordPress dashboard. You can see a full view of how your schedule post will look on the social media platforms you’ve chosen, allow CoSchedule to post at “the best time” according to each social media account, and even tag people that you want to credit! This is a PRIME WordPress plugin and software you need to get now. (Like, RIGHT NOW!)
And there you have it! Of all the plugins I use for my personal blog and Dear Gray Magazine, these are my top five wordpress plugins that I know will help any serious blogger.
